Captivity is closer than you think...

When seventeen-year-old Samantha Parker discovers a classmate trapped in a sex trafficking ring in the elite circles Sam has always trusted, her efforts to uncover the truth lead to the girl’s disappearance.

As the amateur investigation heats up, so do Sam’s feelings for two guys. One is a long-time friend. The other is the football team’s star receiver who is way out of Sam’s league but suddenly very interested. The case dead-ends, the romances crumble, and when things get dangerous, Sam’s best friend backs out.

Even as Sam fights for another’s freedom, she must face her own captivity—a shameful secret, her dad’s expectations, and the walls guarding her heart from true love. Will she risk her reputation, plans for the future, and possibly her life for someone who may not want her help?

About the Author

Teri Jones is a native Texan with two adult sons, an adoring husband, and an over-sized German Shepherd.  In the past decade, her love of writing collided with her love of teens, with whom she frequently volunteers at Gateway Church in the Dallas area.

Teri’s passion for helping teens find their identity and purpose eventually led her to become a subject matter expert and speaker on the topic of modern-day slavery.  Interacting with teen and adult audiences has allowed Teri to develop relationships with numerous anti-trafficking organizations.

Teri has also supported other writers by teaching workshops, leading critique groups, and organizing the Roanoke Writers’ Conference. In 2019, Teri won the First-Timers’ Contest with a full scholarship to Mount Hermon Writers’ Conference.
